    Flower Buds

    • To make these delicate flower buds simply cut one to three 1.5 inch circles from double sided pattern paper.
    • Next, fold the circles according to the instructions in the diagram to form a petal. Flower buds can be anywhere from one to three petals in size.
    • To create the greenery at the base of the flower cut a 1 inch circle from double sided green paper and follow the folding instructions but eliminate step 4. Tuck the base of your flower bud inside the green folds to complete your flower.
    • Decorate your card making project by rubber stamping fourishes, leaves or other designs that complement flowers. Add a solid strip in the same colors as the flowers to enhance the colors and card making design you used.
    • TIP: To add fullness to the look of your flower use a cirlce punch with a scallop edge.

Instructions for making these flowers are pictured below.

Cut a 2"x2" or a 3"x3" square to begin with. Follow the pictured folding instructions. Once all the folds are in place, put a little glue on the inside piece and secure using a partially open paper clip to hold the petal in place while it dries. Assemble the flower as shown in the pictures of the purple flower. Complete the flower with a pearl or gemstone in the center when the glue has dried.

This technique can be jazzed up by using your clear hobby rubber stamps to decorate the paper you will fold.
